Boutiques + Concept Stores
Anna + Nina
Anna + Nina has got to be one of my all time favorite shops ever. It's just perfect. Unique, well designed, and witty; they have everything from clothing, stationary, jewelry, home goods, accessories, gifts, and nick knacks. It is on the pricier side but you'll be sure to find something special to remind you of your trip to Amsterdam that you can't find anywhere else. They have two locations, one near Center and one in De Pijp.
All The Luck in the World
All The Luck in the Wold quickly became a weekly staple in my coffee and shopping routine. There are a few locations scattered around the city. In true concept store fashion some offer food and drinks in a little cafe while others offer a larger variety of carefully crafted and curated goods. It's a beautiful mix of new and old. Contemporary local jewelry and accessories designers next to vintage prints and repurposed furniture. Very vintage-chic.
Hay is a Danish Design brand that I've been in love with and desperately trying to get my hands on for years. I had no idea they had a small outpost in Amsterdam until I was trying to get out of the rain one day and found this cafe with a Hay store attached! It's the perfect place to get a drink and a pastry (I recommend the almond cookies) and browse Danish design perfection for as long as you like. Their specialty is pens, stationary, and desk accessories but they also have some larger furniture and home decor items. All around amazing minimal design that is just too cool for school.
My dear friend and bug expert recommended this Jordan gem to me. You might miss it if you're not looking for it but inside is something akin to an 1800s curiosity cabinet. Truly spectacular specimens and similarly inspired items for sale and on display. It's a small shop but packed to the brim. Make sure to take your time and look around because every corner holds something unique and special.
